FIG. 03·Method

How a job actually goes.

Written out in full, because the parts people worry about are usually the parts nobody explains.

  1. FIG. 01

You call and a person picks up

Not a menu and not a call centre. Whoever answers can see who is on shift and where they are, so the time you are given is a real one. If it is an emergency they will stay on the line and walk you to the shut-off first.

  2. FIG. 02

We look at the actual problem

Before any price is discussed. A slow drain and a failing lateral present identically from the kitchen sink, and quoting one when you have the other is how people end up paying twice.

  3. FIG. 03

You get the price in writing, before we start

You get the price before we start, not after we finish. It covers the work described, not the hours it happens to take us. If we find something the quote did not cover, we stop and re-quote rather than adding it to the bill.

  4. FIG. 04

We do the work and show you it is done

Camera footage where a camera was used, the old part where a part was replaced, and full pressure tested on both temperatures before we pack up. Anything that weeps gets pulled and redone on the day.

  5. FIG. 05

It is guaranteed, and the guarantee is short enough to read

One year on our labour, and whatever the manufacturer gives on the part. If the same fault comes back inside that year, we come back and it costs you nothing.

When it goes wrong

Because sometimes it does.

Occasionally a repair does not hold, a part fails early, or we read a job wrong. It is a trade carried out in other people’s houses on systems we cannot fully see, and anybody claiming a perfect record is either new or not counting.

What we can control is what happens next. Call the office and ask for the owner — not a ticket number, not a form. If it is our workmanship inside the year, we come back and it costs you nothing. If it is the part, we deal with the manufacturer on your behalf rather than handing you a phone number.

And if we genuinely got it wrong, we will say so in those words. That is cheaper for everyone than the alternative.

The number

You get the price before we start, not after we finish.

Every price on this site is what you would actually pay for that work, not a starting point that grows once somebody is in your house.

Dispatch

Something leaking right now?

A person answers, day or night. If water is moving, call — that is always faster than a form.
