Water moving?
Call, don’t type.
(314) 555-0142A person answers, at any hour. They will walk you to your shut-off before anything else happens, and that call costs nothing whether or not you use us afterwards.
First
Do this before you call.
- 01
Find the main shut-off and close it
In most St. Louis homes it is in the basement on the street-facing wall, near the meter. Turn it clockwise until it stops. If you cannot find it, call and stay on the line — we will find it with you.
- 02
Kill power to anything wet
At the breaker, not at the appliance. Do not walk into standing water to reach a switch.
- 03
If you smell gas, leave first
Get everyone out, then call the gas utility from outside, then call us. Do not touch light switches on the way.
- 04
Open the lowest tap in the house
It drains what is left in the pipes downward and away from the leak while you wait.
What counts
When it is genuinely an emergency.
If it is on this list, call now rather than booking. If it is not, the normal booking route will get you a better time slot.
- Water you cannot stop — find the main shut-off first, then call
- Sewage coming up into a tub, shower or floor drain
- No water at all in the house
- Any smell of gas near the water heater — leave, then call the gas utility, then us
The rate
Three in the morning costs what ten in the morning costs.
No call-out fee and no after-hours surcharge, on any day of the year. An emergency is expensive enough without the timing being part of the bill.
01
We tell you what to do before we arrive
Whoever answers will walk you to the shut-off and stay on the line until the water stops. That call costs nothing and it saves more damage than anything we do afterwards.
02
We stop the water first
Stabilise, then diagnose, then quote. Nobody is asked to make a decision about a repair while their basement is filling.
03
We do not price by the clock
Two in the morning on a Sunday is the same rate as ten on a Tuesday. An emergency is already expensive enough without the call-out being part of the problem.
Not urgent
If it can wait until tomorrow.
Leave it here and dispatch will call you back with a window. Anything actively leaking should still go to the phone.
